Canada Dreams

Amberg This title is firstly, a contraction of the place name "Amherstburg" (a small town in Southwestern Ontario). It is where David's paternal grandfather and his father were born and raised. Secondly, the title is a combination of the words amber and iceberg. Both glacial ice and petrified tree sap are known to preserve anything which is trapped within them. In this case David hopes that something of the beauty and majesty of golden amber and the monumentality of ice masses will reflect a portion of the respect he has for the people who are stored in his memory - and whose genes he shares.
This Acrylic on paper is 22"X30" completed in 1995. $432.00 Can. unframed.
