Ashley Bretecher was born on November 3rd, 1982 in Dauphin, Manitoba. She
lived in Canada until 1996, when she and her family moved to Costa Rica.
Ashley has been living in Costa Rica for the last seven years, studying the
language, culture and environment. She is currently working on learning her
sixth language and plans on pursuing a career in the field of linguistics
and translation. She has been writing poetry since the age of eleven and
hopes that her words are simply able to evoke feeling within the hearts of her
