Les Rêves Canadiens

Kiss My Blarny Stone portrays my feelings about colonialization. I was reacting to comments by people who travel to so called primitive cultures and can't understand the natives reluctance to assimilate. One must remember that in many cultures life is short but full. In the Kalihari desert the men go hunting every couple of weeks and the women gather roots twice a week. The rest of the time they tell stories and sing songs. Compare that to a modern life. His hand reaches back in time. His cultural heritage is timeless.
The mixmedia pastel and ink is 17"X19" on a Grey mat in a wooden frame. Completed in 1982. $700.00 Can.
