Specimens From a Four Cornered Planet
Who among us does not have a blind spot of prejudice against something or
someone? Even positive stereotypes may be rooted in a lack of clear
understanding and balanced investigation. Like so many butterflies pinned to a
collector's display board, this tongue-in-cheek painting takes arbitrarily
selected humans from the so-called four racial types and pastes them to a
transparent, glass slide.
The work can be viewed so that no one "race" need be on the top or on the
bottom for an inordinate length of time. In other words, there is a hanging
chain at both ends of the "window".
This Mixed Media is 22"X30" completed in 1996. $216.00 Can. unframed.
